Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Netverse Technologies( "Netverse Technologies", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Selik Customer App, the SelikRider App, or this website (collectively, the "Services"). By using any of the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Who we are
Selik is an on-demand pick-up and delivery service operated by Netverse Technologies, a company registered in Kenya with its office at Umoja 2, Moi Drive, Nairobi. This policy covers two apps and this website:
- Selik Customer App: used by customers to request and track deliveries.
- Selik Rider App: used by riders to accept, fulfil, and get verified for deliveries.
- This website (https://selik.netversetech.co.ke): used for public tracking, contact, and information about the Services.
2. Information we collect
What we collect depends on which app you use and how you use it.
a. Account and profile information
Name, phone number, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), gender, nationality, and an optional profile photo. Customers and riders both create an account this way; phone number verification uses an SMS/email one-time code.
b. Rider verification (KYC) information
To keep the platform safe, riders go through identity and compliance verification before they can accept deliveries. This includes:
- Date of birth, national ID number, tax (KRA PIN) number, and marital status.
- Photos or scans of: National ID or Passport, a passport photo, Driving License, Certificate of Good Conduct, and a photo of the delivery vehicle showing its number plate.
- Where applicable: vehicle logbook, vehicle insurance, road license, and county business permit.
This information is used solely to verify a rider's identity, eligibility, and vehicle compliance, and to meet our legal and safety obligations.
c. Location data
Both apps request precise (GPS) and approximate location to find nearby riders, calculate routes and fares, and provide live delivery tracking. The Rider App additionally requests background location access while a rider is on an active delivery, so customers can see accurate live tracking even if the app is minimised; this runs as a visible foreground service and stops once the delivery is complete.
d. Delivery and transaction data
Pickup and drop-off addresses, saved/favourite locations, package details, delivery history, fare amounts, payment method, and mobile money (M-Pesa) transaction references. We do not store your M-Pesa PIN, payments are processed through Safaricom's M-Pesa platform.
e. Photos taken in-app
Proof-of-pickup and proof-of-delivery photos, profile avatars, and the KYC document photos described above.
f. Device and usage data
Device model and OS version, app version, crash and diagnostic logs, general usage analytics, and a push notification token used to deliver order and account updates.
g. Social sign-in
If you choose to sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive the basic profile information (name, email) those providers share with us to create or log you into your account.
h. Communications
Messages you send us through in-app support, the website contact form, or the website chat assistant, including any information you choose to include in them.
